30 May Pinot Grigio, a fine ‘foodie’ favourite – with good reason!
It doesn’t have to be Pinot Grigio Day to enjoy a glass of this wonderfully summery wine, however, when it is Pinot Grigio Day, May 17th, there’s all the more reason! We love Pinot Grigio because of its versatility as a crowd pleaser, it’s light, bright and a great sipper alongside summer fare…BUT have you tried its namesake, Pinot Gris? Pinot Gris is arguably one of the best ‘food wines’, in terms of the directions you can go with your pairing. Fuller bodied, more weighty, often with ripe pear and peach aromas, it’s a fabulous find and one for summer, that’s for sure!

You may know that Pinot Grigio and Pinot Gris are effectively the same grape…however, did you know that there can be a huge difference between the two, in terms of style? Pinot Grigio tends to be lighter and more floral in style, but Pinot Gris can be a much bolder, fuller style of wine and its food pairing abilities are almost endless!
