Matawhero Single Vineyard Gewurztraminer, Gisborne, New Zealand

Matawhero was founded by Kiwi wine-making pioneers and legends, Bill and Denis Irwin who planted the first vineyards in Gisborne. Now owned by Kirsten and Richard Searle, the wines are ‘dry-farmed’ ie no irrigation is used.

Single block release wine with all the beguiling features of the grape; highly aromatic with lychee and rose petal. On the palate, flavours of turkish delight, sweet spices and ginger. the finish is generous and creamy.
