The family estate was created in 2004. The vineyard covers 5.8 hectares over 3 communes: Morey-Saint-Denis, Gevrey-Chambertin and Chambolle-Musigny in the heart of the Cote de Nuits. The vines are grown showing great respect for the land and the unique wine produced reflects the grape variety, the vintage and the terroir. The yields are controlled and the grapes are picked by hand.
Clos des Ormes is one of the tiny premier Crus of Morey, and Hugh Johnson says ‘few of whose names are well known but whose general standard is very high’.
The grapes are partially destemmed and then cold-pressed before fermentation and put into stainless steel tanks for two weeks. The grapes are then pressed pneumatically. Aged in oak barrels ( partially new) for 12 months.
A Burgundy of grace, structure and concentration.
