Gigondas La Cave Le Dit de Saint-Tronquet Côtes du Rhône Villages Plan de Dieu, Southern Rhône, France

A richly flavoured southern Rhône red with blackberry, cherry and raspberry aromas, interwoven with thyme, garrigue, black pepper and a hint of liquorice. The palate is full and savoury, showing ripe dark fruit, supple yet present tannins and enough freshness to carry a long, spicy finish. The blend of Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre comes from red-clay and rounded-stone soils; fully destemmed fruit is traditionally fermented and matured in concrete vats, with pump-overs and gentle extraction.
