Eirados Late Bottled Vintage Port, Portugal

£23.99

Originally known as the Quinta Santa Eufemia, the Eirados Douro estate was founded in 1864 by Bernardo Rodrigues de Carvalho. The winery is on the site of a Roman grain store or ‘eirado’.

All wines produced are from the family’s own 50 hectares of vines and are based on Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca and other traditional varieties. Open ‘lagars’ are used for the crush.

‘Late bottled vintage’ or LBV ports are the product of one vintage and are aged in large oak casks for three years before bottling.

A port with an intense, dark colour, rich, dark fruit notes, a hint of spice and some wood tannin.

A natural sediment may form in the bottle over time.
