Gaelle and Jerome Meunier (she a wine scientist and he a former ‘regisseur’) farm a few hectares in Mercurey and Puligny.
Avery elegant wine with great minerality and refreshing acidity which is long and refined in the mouth. Will accompany fish or lobster and should be decanted before serving. Can be kept for 5 to 10 years after bottling.
The grapes for this wine come from Nosroyes and Petites Nosroyes on the Meursault side of Puligny. The soil is lay and limestone and the grapes are hand harvested. After pressing the juice is left to settle for a few days then put into French oak barrels (30% new). Indigenous yeasts are used for fermentation and the wine spends 12 months in barrel before being blended and bottled.
