Château Cantemerle 2016 Grand Cru Classé, Haut-Médoc, Bordeaux, France

Cantemerle is an important Grand Cru Classé Chateau of the Haut-Médoc. 91 hectares are in production, with the vineyard rich in free-draining gravel soils.

The blend here is 52% Cabernet Sauvignon, 39% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc and 4% Petit Verdot. Barrique aging is for 16 months, with 40% of barrels new each year.

This is classic Cantemerle with a bouquet of blackberries, tobacco and cedar. On the palate the wine is fleshly fruity, but with poise, and supple tannins.
