The Robert family have farmed since 1901, and bottled their first Champagne in 1962. Their 14 hectares of vines are primarily in the chalk-rich Grand Cru Village of Mesnil sur Oger in the Cote de Blancs.
This is a ‘blanc de blancs’, 100% Chardonnay, based on the 2016 vintage. The base wine is partially oak fermented, with 4 years’ ageing ‘sur lattes’ before disgorgement.
With an eye-catching, gentle mousse, a bouquet of apple, citrus oil and toast and a palate that is well structured with fine acidity, a particularly fine champagne.
