Winzerhof Schlosser have been growing grapes since 1900, however for a long time their main crop was actually sugar beet! When 5th generation Marcus took over in 2008, he introduced fantastic modern winemaking techniques and focused on wine production a smart move considering that Schlosser have some of the best Weinviertal vineyards just at the foot of Manhartsberg!
Year after year, it’s intense notes of apricot and peach get this wine yet another award. A wine with depth, refreshing acidity, and tremendous structure. The traditional moonshine harvest happens every year in October’s full moon night using headlamps. The fine Riesling grapes are manually harvested, and after 8 hours of maceration they are pressed the next day, fermented and refined on yeast for 3 months.
